Bannisters Bridge Holiday

19 to 22 May 2020

Perched on the clifftop between Mollymook and Narrawallee beaches, Bannisters by the Sea is a contemporary boutique hotel in a wonderful position. With stunning coastal views from all rooms, a chic lounge bar, an infinity swimming pool and Rick Stein’s award-winning seafood restaurant, Bannisters is the ideal location for a Bridge Away holiday.

The Bannisters Bridge Holiday features:
♠ Three nights luxury accommodation with breakfast each day
♥ Seven bridge sessions
♦ Two intermediate bridge lessons
♣ Three dinners at Rick Stein at Bannisters Restaurant

Bannisters by the Sea is situated at Mollymook on the NSW South Coast, a little over three hours by car from the centre of Sydney.

The holiday program

There is plenty of bridge and you can play as much or as little as you wish. The program commences on Tuesday 19 May with a bridge session at 2 pm. A two-course dinner at Rick Stein at Bannisters Restaurant will be followed by a bridge session. On Wednesday 20 May there is a morning lesson, an afternoon bridge session, a two-course dinner and an evening bridge session.

On Thursday 21 May we have a morning lesson and an afternoon bridge session. Dinner is a three-course gourmet experience followed by a short duplicate. On Friday 22 May we have a morning duplicate and the holiday will finish around 12.30 pm.

The bridge sessions and lessons cater for players of all standards. There will be players coming on the holiday on their own so you can always turn up to a session without a partner and have a game.

Masterpoints will be awarded in all sessions, including red masterpoints in some events. Prizes will be awarded to session winners.

The hotel

Bannisters by the Sea was built more than thirty years ago in typical south coast seaside motel style and retains the unassuming exterior of a 1970s building. Some years ago the hotel had a stylish refit to become a luxury boutique hotel.

The hotel’s rooms are furnished in contemporary coastal style. The hotel’s two penthouses were redesigned by Milton resident and fashion icon Collette Dinnigan, with hand-printed fabrics, elegant furnishings, original art and photographs. Attached to the hotel is also an extraordinary two-bedroom apartment, the Cameron Kimber Penthouse.

All rooms and suites have ocean views, private balcony or deck, contemporary bathroom, minibar, bathrobes, DVD, cable television, internet access and tea and coffee- making facilities. Many rooms have a spa bath.

Rick Stein at Bannisters Restaurant offers innovative cuisine in elegant surrounds. The restaurant features local south coast seafood in dishes made famous at Rick’s restaurant in the Cornish fishing village of Padstow.

Casual lunches including gourmet pizzas and salads are available at the poolside café and bar, right by the lodge’s wet-edge pool.

Bannisters has an on-site day spa, offering massage, body treatments and beauty therapies.

Around Mollymook

The district enjoys some wonderful scenery with beautiful beaches, national parks and lush rolling pastureland. You may wish to take some time away from the bridge table to enjoy a stroll along nearby Narrawallee Beach or Mollymook Beach, try one of the easy bushwalks at Narrawallee Creek Nature Reserve, or go for a scenic drive.

Just a short drive away is historic Milton, a National Trust village with cafés, galleries, boutiques and gift and antique shops. Just out of Milton is Cupitt’s Winery where you can enjoy a gourmet lunch while looking out over the vines to the Budawang Ranges.

Ulladulla, with its picturesque boat harbour, is also just a few minutes away. You can enjoy freshly shucked oysters, buy fresh seafood at the wharf or take a whale-watching cruise.

Mollymook Golf Club has a beachside nine-hole course as well as an eighteen-hole championship course.
